EXPIRED: Chile calling from $1022

LATAM (formerly Lan Chile before the merger with TAM) has a great fare to Santiago from $1022 for travel between May and November (there are some blackout periods that apply). 

Details are below –

• Sydney to Santiago – $1022 (requires stop in Auckland of approx 2hrs either way)

• Melbourne to Santiago – $1018 (Qantas connecting flight to and from Auckland with a layover of 5hrs on the way there and 2hrs on the way back)

Singapore Airlines has some great return fares to Singapore from both Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane starting from $600. The travel period stretches from February to November 2017, though there are blackout periods that do apply (i.e school holidays etc).

Switzerland! Some cheap deals to Zurich with a couple of airlines for travel during October and November 2017. Details are below –

Thai Airways via Bangkok – $1035 (ex mel), $1048 (ex syd)

Qatar Airways via Doha – $1039 (ex mel), $1052 (ex syd)

Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong – $1043 (via mel), $1056 (ex syd).

Whether your origin is either Sydney or Melbourne, Thai offers the quickest way to and from Zurich of the three options. If comfort is high on your list, I suggest the Qatar option as they fly their A380 between Doha and Melbourne (the other two is a mix of the A350 and B777). If flexibility instead is high on your list of priorities, then Cathay Pacific is best suited for you offering 3 flights daily between Melbourne and Hong Kong (Thai offers 2 daily, Qatar 1 daily).

 Another advantage with flying Cathay is if you are a Qantas frequent flyer points/status earn rate on a discount economy ticket like this is reasonable (e.g. melbourne to hong kong oneway earns  2,250 pts and 15 status credits) while on Qatar its absymal (e.g. melbourne to Doha oneway earns 1,850 pts and 20 status credits). With Velocity, you are out of luck as Virgin is not affiliated with any of these 3 airlines.
